AgWeatherNet Weekly Weather Outlook for April 14 to April 20, 2018

Western Rain This Weekend; Cool and Unsettled to Drier and Milder Next Week

Nic Loyd, Meteorologist, 509-786-9357

Although milder temperatures are expected this weekend, active weather looks to continue in the coming days. Saturday will be rainy in western Washington, and then the wet conditions should spread eastward later in the weekend. Even as cooling comes to western areas by Sunday, southerly air flow in advance of an incoming front is likely to cause another mild day in far eastern parts of the state around Pullman and Spokane.

However, as the chilly upper low swings inland on Monday, a notably cooler and possibly damp afternoon is anticipated for the eastern region. Breezy conditions are predicted for early next week, as drier air overtakes the Northwest. By Tuesday morning, the threat of frost is forecast to increase. Colder areas that have clear and calm conditions may fall into the mid to upper 20s, with widespread 30s to mid 40s elsewhere.

Although later next week could generally be drier and eventually calmer relative to early in the period, a slightly unsettled pattern is set to persist. Warmer afternoons are poised to arrive by mid next week, while milder lows are possible near the end of the outlook interval.
