AgWeatherNet Weekly Weather Outlook for February 3 to February 9, 2018

Mild and Unsettled Weather Continues In Early February

Nic Loyd, Meteorologist, 509-786-9357

Our distinctly un-La Niña-like La Niña winter will continue in early February, as the recent prolonged interval of unseasonal warmth looks to persist for the foreseeable future. Along with the above normal temperatures, periods of wind and western rain are expected in the coming days. This weekend should be wet at times in the west, and periodically windy in the east. Slightly cooler air and modestly unsettled conditions are possible for early next week, before another mild high pressure ridge builds across the region later in the period. As a result, somewhat drier, calmer, and more benign weather is likely at that time. Punxsutawney Phil may have predicted this morning that six more weeks of winter is on the way, but at least for now, winter is nowhere to be found in the Northwest.
