AgWeatherNet Weekly Weather Outlook for June 3 to June 9, 2017

Warm and Changeable Weather Continues for Early June

Nic Loyd, Meteorologist, 509-786-9357

Unlike the rather stable month of April, the recent meteorological theme of variable May weather looks to persist in early June. Temperatures will generally run above normal, although there is no indication of any extended intervals of oppressive heat. Conditions are expected to be dry and warmer on Saturday, before a breezy front brings cooler air and a small chance of showers back to the state on Sunday and early Monday. However, rapid warming is likely for early to mid next week, as Washington enters another hot spell. Luckily, a cooler and more unsettled pattern may eventually set up late in the period. The predominant question is how the transition occurs. Although the forecast model agreement is not ideal, pattern recognition from some solutions suggests that showers and thunderstorms might return around next Thursday. Overall, there should be no lack of heat in the coming days, even though welcome respites of seasonal conditions are anticipated to occur from time to time.
