AgWeatherNet Weekly Weather Outlook for April 15 to April 21, 2017

Cool on Saturday and Drier on Easter; Wetter and Warmer Next Week

Nic Loyd, Meteorologist, 509-786-9357

The midpoint of meteorological spring is nearly upon us, which means that temperatures are typically around their long term annual averages at this point in the year. Luckily, 2017 is generally expected to follow that trend, with moderate temperatures and continued variable weather in the coming days.

Despite the recent wet conditions, and the promise of more rain to come, Washington is likely to enjoy a well-timed dry interval for Easter. A crisp morning notwithstanding, ample sunshine and a warming air mass should help to produce a very mild and pleasant Sunday afternoon in many locations. Otherwise, the main potential weather concerns for this weekend are a few western showers on Saturday, and scattered frost on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Not surprisingly, Washington will return to a wetter, albeit warmer pattern for much of next week. Peering farther ahead, even warmer and drier weather is possible toward next weekend, but it is a bit early to have high confidence in that extended range forecast.
