AgWeatherNet Weekly Weather Outlook for April 8 to April 14, 2017

Unsettled Weather Continues; Becoming Slightly Warmer Next Week

Nic Loyd, Meteorologist, 509-786-9357

You may be growing weary of the same old script, but Mother Nature is not providing me with much new material. Changeable and sometimes active weather looks to persist in the coming days, as temperatures generally remain in a seasonal range. As in recent weeks, although there will certainly be plenty of dry periods for some areas, there are also no obvious, prolonged intervals of dry and calm conditions on the horizon for the state. Characterizing the details of such a pattern is not always clear, but we can establish an overall trajectory. Unsettled weather this weekend and especially on Monday may briefly subside around Tuesday, before another surge of moisture and wind returns from the south later in the period. Modest warming is also anticipated for the middle of next week. Such a meteorological evolution is hardly a carbon copy of this past week, but there is nonetheless a generous amount of recycled content. It has been said that April showers bring May flowers. There should be several opportunities for the first part of that old saying to occur in the near future. Therefore, my long range outlook for May: flowers.
