AgWeatherNet Weekly Weather Outlook for November 19 to November 25, 2016

Active and Unseasonably Mild Conditions Expected

Nic Loyd, Meteorologist, 509-786-9357

After an astonishingly warm first half of November, long overdue snow has finally fallen in the Cascade high country. It seems, however, that the recent, brief spell of cooler (yet still above normal) temperatures will ultimately be just a fleeting glimpse of more typical late autumn weather. As a trough becomes re-established off the west coast, the dreaded southerly air flow will resume its dominion over our weather pattern. As air from a (relatively) warm source region consistently infiltrates the Northwest, abnormally mild conditions are likely in the coming days. The weather should also be rather active and wet, as a series of storms periodically impact the state. Relative lulls may occur at times in central Washington, but the Wednesday (Thanksgiving Eve Day) travel day may be wet and breezy, especially in western Washington.

Temperatures
  • Generally above normal, especially at night.
  • Becoming warmer into early next week in central Washington.

Precipitation
  • A chance of rain at times east of the Cascades.
  • Rain likely at times in the west.

Wind
  • Breezy at times, especially later next week.

8 to 14 Day Outlook - November 26, 2016 to December 2, 2016
