AgWeatherNet Weekly Weather Outlook for October 29 to November 4, 2016

Active and Variable Weather Continues; From Cool to Warmer Next Week

Nic Loyd, Meteorologist, 509-786-9357

We may be turning the page from the Halloween season and Ichabod Crane to election season and early November, but the meteorological storyline will remain all too familiar during this outlook period. Unsettled and changeable weather looks to persist in the coming days, as intervals of rain and breezes continue, along with rather mild nights. After a couple of systems pass through the state this weekend, a shift to briefly cooler conditions should occur early next week. There is appreciable forecast uncertainty for the middle of next week, as the pattern is expected to transition to a more consolidated southwesterly air flow. Depending upon the oscillating location of the jet stream and associated moisture plume near the coast, there could be notable western rainfall and potentially active conditions later in the period, even as eastern areas may remain fairly dry. In any case, warmer temperatures are likely by next Friday.

Temperatures
  • Generally near average highs and above normal lows.
  • Becoming cooler early next week, and warmer later next week.

Precipitation
  • A chance of rain at times, especially in western areas.

Wind
  • Breezes at times, especially on Monday, and again later in the week at the coast.

8 to 14 Day Outlook - November 5, 2016 to November 11, 2016
