AgWeatherNet Weekly Weather Outlook for August 13 to August 19, 2016

Summer Heat Returns for Mid August

Nic Loyd, Meteorologist, 509-786-9357

The climate system is poised to issue a friendly reminder to Washington in the coming days: It is only the middle of August, and summer is still far from over. Despite some day to day variability, generally hot and sunny weather is on the way for the next week, as high temperatures look to top 100 degrees at times in a few central and eastern areas, and 90 degrees in some western locations. A very weak system may bring modest cooling and light breezes to Washington on Sunday and Monday, but the impacts should otherwise be rather minimal. Overall, this weekend is likely to be the beginning of one of the hotter periods since early June.

Temperatures
  • Generally hot through the period.
  • Slightly cooler on Sunday/Monday in western/eastern Washington.

Precipitation
  • Mostly dry through the period.

Wind
  • Breezy on Sunday and Monday.

8 to 14 Day Outlook - August 20, 2016 to August 26, 2016
