AgWeatherNet Weekly Weather Outlook for May 7 to May 13, 2016

Hot on Saturday and Windy on Sunday; From Pleasant to Hot Next Week

Nic Loyd, Meteorologist, 509-786-9357

Saturday may bring the hottest temperatures of the year to date to parts of the state. Given the weather conditions so far this spring, that is really saying something. Some areas east of the Cascades should top out in the low 90s under mainly sunny skies. Luckily, gusty winds will usher in a quick burst of relatively cool air from the northwest starting on Sunday, as we transition from well above normal to merely slightly above normal temperatures. Drier and calmer air should allow for more pleasant conditions early next week, with warm days but comfortably cool nights. However, heat is likely to return once again later next week. It seems that summer is already here.

Temperatures
  • Hot on Saturday, and cooler by Monday.
  • Becoming warmer later next week.

Precipitation
  • Mostly dry.
  • A slight chance of showers early next week.

Wind
  • Windy from Sunday through Monday morning.
