AgWeatherNet Weekly Weather Outlook for April 23 to April 29, 2016

Cooler and Unsettled This Weekend; Warmer Days Later Next Week

Nic Loyd, Meteorologist, 509-786-9357

Contrary to the prevailing opinion of Mother Nature, July is not yet upon us. Beginning this weekend, the weather will, at long last, reluctantly acquiesce to that temporal reality. As has been noted here before, but deserves repeating, the significant pattern change that is presently underway may seem stark and sudden, but is hardly unusual for this time of the year. What has been extraordinary is the magnitude and duration of this past week's heat. As cooler, breezy, and occasionally showery conditions resume for late April, Washington is merely experiencing a course correction to more seasonal spring weather. The unsettled regime should persist into early next week, and then warmer and drier days are possible later in the period. Even so, don't put away the jackets quite yet.
