The 64,000$ question for the upcoming outlook period is what will eventually happen to the upper low that is presently approaching Washington. For this weekend, western areas will be relatively comfortable due to onshore flow, while eastern Washington should be fairly warm thanks to southerly air flow. We can expect humidity levels and low temperatures to increase as low pressure nears the offshore waters, and brings isolated showers to at least western areas by later on Saturday. For early next week, a chance of showers and even thunderstorms expands to encompass the entire state, although plenty of areas should be dry for much of the time. Overall, a slightly unsettled and seasonably warm week is on the way.

Temperatures
  • Generally slightly above normal.
  • Warmest in the east, and relatively warm at night.

Precipitation
  • Mostly dry this weekend, with a chance of showers in western areas beginning later on Saturday, and a slight chance of showers east of the Cascades on Sunday.
  • A slight chance of showers statewide next week, especially early in the week, but mostly dry overall.

Wind
  • Relatively light breezes at times.

8 to 14 Day Outlook - August 15, 2015 to August 21, 2015
