Welcome heat relief finally arrives in Washington this weekend, as we prepare to experience something that has become very abnormal in recent times: normal temperatures. While the change will hardly improve the drought situation, day-time conditions should at least become slightly more tolerable for several days. There could be isolated showers through early next week, but many areas are expected to remain mainly dry and breezy at times. Low temperatures are likely to decrease early next week, as drier air infiltrates the region. However, sunny and warmer days may return around the middle of next week.

Temperatures
  • Cooler, but slightly above normal overall.
  • Warmer days return later next week.

Precipitation
  • A slight chance of showers through Tuesday, but mainly dry overall.
  • Drier later next week.

Wind
  • Breezy at times, especially early next week.

8 to 14 Day Outlook - July 18, 2015 to July 24, 2015
  • Overall, near average temperatures and near average precipitation are expected during the 8 to 14 day time frame.
