Nic Loyd, Meteorologist, 509-786-9357
Gerrit Hoogenboom, Director, 509-786-9371

Following a brief absence during the first half of April, a familiar theme is set to return in the coming days: unusually warm conditions. A weak storm will clip northern Washington on Saturday morning, although the effects should be limited to a few clouds, moderate breezes, and slightly cooler temperatures compared to Friday. High pressure is expected to build strongly into the region for Sunday into early next week, which will allow for mainly sunny and warm weather. Monday or Tuesday could be the first days of the year to feature widespread 80 degree temperatures. Conditions will become more unsettled with cooler days later next week, although above normal temperatures are likely to persist. Increasing moisture may lead to milder lows around mid week before perhaps cooling late in the period.
