Hot and sunny daytime weather will return to the state this weekend, as a strong ridge of high pressure rebuilds over the region. The heat should peak on Sunday in interior western areas, although some parts of eastern Washington may be just as warm on Monday. Day-time temperatures are expected to cool from west to east during the early to middle part of next week, as clouds and winds increase. Rain may return to Washington later next week during what could be the first autumn-like storm of the season.
