Nic Loyd, Meteorologist, 509-786-9357
Gerrit Hoogenboom, Director, 509-786-9371

Conditions should be seasonally pleasant during the first portion of the upcoming Holiday weekend. However, a chance of rain will approach western areas later on Sunday, before unsettled weather spreads across the state on Memorial Day. While conditions early next week are not expected to be excessively stormy, the trend will be toward cloudier and cooler weather as the long weekend progresses. Saturday will clearly be the best day for outdoor activities, with mainly mild and dry conditions lingering into Sunday in the east. Cooler weather will last into the middle of next week, as a meandering upper low slowly moves across the state. Drier weather is possible again during the latter part of next week, along with potentially warmer day-time conditions.
