AgWeatherNet Weekly Weather Outlook for November 16 to 22, 2013

Cool and Showery This Weekend; Becoming Wet and Mild Early Next Week

Nic Loyd, Meteorologist, 509-786-9357

As Friday's strong storm departs the area this weekend, showers and breezy conditions will linger into Saturday. Rain showers are expected in western areas, with rain or snow showers likely to occur in eastern areas near the Idaho border. Central areas should receive much less precipitation, but will experience breezy conditions, along with a slight chance of showers. Otherwise, snow showers will continue in the mountains. Although some areas will temporarily dry out on Saturday night, showers will increase again in western areas early on Sunday, and may spread eastward during the day.

Following another brief respite early on Monday morning, a wet and mild storm will move into western areas later in the day, and linger through Wednesday. Additional disturbances could traverse the state later next week as well. Western areas are likely to be quite wet next week, with periods of potentially heavy rain. Eastern areas around Pullman and Spokane may also have rain at times next week, although central Washington will be shadowed by the mountains at least some of the time. Snow levels will be high enough that the mountains will receive mainly rainfall for much of the early to middle part of next week. Due to the expected active weather, temperatures should be rather mild next week, especially at night. Cooler conditions may return later next week, especially in the mountains, before warmer air quickly follows next weekend.
