The main headline for the upcoming seven days will be continued dry and very warm weather, along with significant fire danger. Pleasant weather on Saturday will give way to increasingly hot weather through at least Tuesday, with periodic cooling in western areas later next week. High temperatures this weekend will be in the 70s to low 80s in the west, except 60s to low 70s at the coast, with lows in the 50s to low 60s. In central areas, highs will be in the 80s to low 90s, with low temperatures in the 50s to low 60s. In the east, highs will be in the upper 70s to 80s, with lows in the upper 40s to mid 50s.

The very comfortable and dry air of this weekend will become slightly more humid next week, as southerly flow invades the region. In eastern areas around Pullman and Spokane, highs should be in the upper 80s to 90s early in the week, with lows in the mid 50s to low 60s. Central areas will be in the mid 90s to low 100s by Tuesday, with low temperatures in the 60s. Interior western areas will climb into the mid 70s to 80s during the day, and drop to the mid 50s to low 60s at night, before cooler marine air arrives by Wednesday. Some moderation of temperatures could occur at times in eastern areas later next week, although the extent of the cooling is uncertain.
