Nic Loyd, Meteorologist, 509-786-9357
Gerrit Hoogenboom, Director, 509-786-9371

Warmer and more seasonal weather will return this weekend, before a more active period arrives for early to mid next week. The steady warming that began on Thursday should continue this weekend, with temperatures peaking around Monday or Tuesday. Although there will be a few showers in western areas and around Pullman and Spokane, most central areas should experience a fairly dry weekend. High temperatures this weekend will generally be in the 60s in the west and mid 60s to 70s in the east, while lows will be in the 40s to low 50s.

An increased chance of widespread rain or showers will return to many areas around next Tuesday, as an unsettled weather pattern resumes, which should last through the remainder of the period. Temperatures will decrease again around the middle of next week due to the arrival of clouds and possibly showery weather from weak disturbances passing near the region. Highs will decline from the 70s to low 80s in the east and 60s to low 70s in the west early next week to the mid 60s to 70s in the east and upper 50s to 60s in the west later in the week. Low temperatures should be rather mild next week in the mid 40s to mid 50s. Overall, however, the upcoming week should be rather seasonal, and not nearly as cool and wet as the middle of this past week.
