Nic Loyd, Meteorologist, 509-786-9357
Gerrit Hoogenboom, Director, 509-786-9371

Calmer and drier weather will prevail on Thanksgiving Day, as the region receives a brief respite from the recent active weather. The transient ridge of high pressure will quickly surrender to increasing southwesterly flow, as another storm takes aim on the state on Friday and Saturday. Rain will spread across western Washington, and there is a chance of rain east of the Cascades. Snow levels will drop on Friday night and Saturday, as rain turns to snow in the mountains. Temperatures will be above average on Friday and Saturday, before cooling to near to below average by Sunday. As a southwesterly air flow becomes established again by the middle of next week, wetter and milder conditions are likely to return to the region.
