Above Normal Temperatures Through Early Next Week and then Much Cooler

Conditions will be warming again through this weekend and into early next week, as rain clips northwestern Washington. In general, it will be drier than this past week, although periodic chances of rain will continue during the outlook period. A ridge of high pressure will attempt to build in from the south, as storms brush northern areas at times. Above normal temperatures will persist through early to mid next week. Highs will generally be in the upper 50s to mid 60s, with lows in the 40s to around 50. A significant cold front will likely cross the area around Wednesday, as a deep trough moves into Washington. By late next week, much cooler conditions and showers are possible, with highs falling into the 40s and 50s, and lows in the mid 20s to 30s. The mountains will also be much colder, with highs in the 30s, and a chance of snow returning later in the week. Following a mild period through early next week, it is possible that the coldest weather of the autumn so far will arrive by next Friday.
