Very warm and mainly dry weather will continue east of the Cascades this weekend, while areas west of the Cascades will begin to cool down. Eastern Washington will be mainly in the mid 80s to mid 90s, with 50s at night. The coast will experience notable cooling and some clouds on Saturday, which will reach interior western Washington on Sunday. After inland highs in the 80s on Saturday, Sunday will be mainly in the 60s and low 70s in western Washington.

By Monday, cool, autumn-like weather will spread across the state, as a strong jet stream and trough of low pressure will affect the region. The storm will bring a light yet welcome rainfall to western Washington, and windy conditions and a chance of blowing dust to central and eastern Washington. Although very wet conditions are not expected, Monday will be a notable change from the recent summer-like weather. Highs will fall into the 60s and 70s area wide. The mountains will be particularly cool and windy on Monday, with a chance of snow in the higher elevations. There is also a chance of isolated frost in cold areas on Tuesday or Wednesday morning, during the transition period from active to calmer weather. Most areas will be down into the 40s overnight during this period. Temperatures by mid to late next week will quickly rebound to above normal levels, as high pressure builds back into the region. Sunny, dry, and calm conditions will prevail in most areas, as highs rise into the 70s and 80s, while lows climb into the 50s.
