Mild and slightly warmer weather is expected for Saturday and Sunday in central Washington, with near average temperatures in the 70s. It will be warmer in western Washington (except at the coast) on Saturday, with highs in the upper 60s to 70s, before significant cooling into the mid 50s to mid 60s with a chance of showers on Sunday. The Pullman/Spokane area will generally be in the 60s through early next week, with a chance of showers. Lows will be in the 40s to low 50s. It will be much cooler in western Washington than in central Washington from Sunday through early next week.

The trend in western Washington will be for a warm Saturday followed by notably cooler conditions from Sunday into early next week, and then warmer conditions, especially in the south, by mid to late next week. The trend in central and eastern Washington will be for warmer weather this weekend, and then cooler weather early next week, before potentially significant warming occurs later in the week.

Weak weather systems will affect mainly western Washington from Sunday through early next week, keeping that area somewhat cooler. A ridge of high pressure will try to build into the Northwest by the mid to latter part of next week, although a westerly jet may continue to clip northwestern Washington. The exact placement is uncertain, and will be crucial to the weather, especially for western Washington. At this time, it appears that there could be a stronger north to south temperature gradient setting up later next week. Significant warming will likely occur in southern and eastern Washington, while only minimal warming may occur in northwestern Washington if clouds, light showers, and marine air continue to impact the immediate coast and northwest interior.
