Saturday morning will feature a slight chance of frost in the coldest locations of central Washington, especially around the Yakima Valley at locations such as Moxee. Many other areas will have lows in the 40s. Otherwise, frost chances are low for the remainder of the period.

The trend of temperatures over this coming outlook period will be similar to the pattern that was described in last week's outlook and actually occurred this past week. However, it will be a much warmer period overall during the coming week. It will be dry and sunny this weekend, with rapidly warming temperatures that will be well above normal by Sunday. It will be hot and dry early next week, with above normal temperatures that should peak around Sunday or Monday for western Washington, and Monday or Tuesday for eastern Washington. In fact, Monday and Tuesday may be the warmest days of 2012 so far, with temperatures peaking at around 95 in the hottest areas of central Washington. The Vancouver area could peak on Sunday with temperatures near 90 degrees. Temperatures will warm into the mid 80s to low 90s early next week in central Washington, as lows climb into the 40s and 50s. There may be another period of large temperature gradients over western Washington through early next week during the hot weather. The gradients will lessen once the marine air and stratus clouds push into western Washington around Tuesday. Cooler and breezy weather will translate slowly from west to east around mid week, along with a slight chance of showers in western Washington. Overall, it will be dry and sunny through early next week, with well above normal temperatures on Monday and Tuesday that will transition to less hot weather during the latter part of the week.
