Following areas of subfreezing temperatures on Saturday morning, southerly air flow will usher in warmer weather this weekend. The warmest temperatures in central Washington are likely to occur late in the weekend into early next week, with 70s possible in some areas. The weekend will be mostly dry across Washington as a ridge of high pressure builds into the region. Conditions may become unsettled again in western Washington next week, as the jet stream becomes more active and steers weather systems toward the region. Although showers and slightly cooler temperatures may return to western Washington next week, areas east of the Cascades are likely to remain seasonally mild and mostly dry, with only a slight chance of showers or thunderstorms. Following potential widespread frost on Saturday morning, overnight temperatures are generally expected to be above freezing for the remainder of the outlook period.
