Nic Loyd, Meteorologist, 509-786-9357
Gerrit Hoogenboom, Director, 509-786-9371

Rain will fall for much of the weekend and into next week in western Washington, while eastern Washington will have a chance of rain and windy conditions at times. Temperatures will be mild on Saturday, especially in eastern Washington, before cooling on Sunday. Cool temperatures early in the week should warm by mid to late next week. A trough of low pressure will become established by Sunday in the eastern Pacific Ocean, while a ridge of high pressure will dominate much of the United States for the next week. This pattern will leave Washington in a moist southwesterly flow that will periodically deliver storms to the region. Overall, temperatures will be seasonal and precipitation amounts will be above normal, although there will be temperature fluctuations as storms pass through the state. It will be cold and snowy at times in the mountains, especially from Sunday through early next week.
